WHAT WE DO

ADOPT CHARLESTON CATS is located in Charleston County, South Carolina.  We highlight felines available for adoption from shelters, rescue groups, animal sanctuary, and private individuals (who have provided us proof of the cat being fully vetted - spay/neuter and current vaccinations).
Foster felines will always include a description written by their foster parent and at least one photo (usually more).  Foster parents typically are more than happy to communicate directly with you and also set-up meet & greets.  CONTACT US if you are interested in a foster feline, and we will get you and the foster home in contact with each other.
If you do not find the cat or kitten you are looking for on our or the shelter / rescue / sanctuary websites, please CONTACT US and provide details on what you are searching for (age, gender, color, etc.).  We gladly will assist you in finding a match in Charleston County or the neighboring counties.  See below comment received from the Barnes family who used ADOPT CHARLESTON CATS to find a bonded pair of black kittens to become part of their loving family.

DISCLAIMER:  Adopt Charleston Cats is not a shelter and we are unable to accept intakes.  We will promote some Charleston County felines in need of a home while living in their current residence; however, proof of current vaccinations and spay/neuter at a minimum is REQUIRED.  Adopt Charleston Cats reserves the right to contact the veterinarian's office to verify records submitted by the current owner.

I enjoyed speaking with you the other day. I appreciate what you do and admire your devotion to our animal friends.

I was able to visit the kittens at Carrie's house [foster home] today. First, I have to say that Carrie and her husband are excellent fosters for CAS. These kittens have clearly been very well cared for and well socialized. They are lovely people with an obvious love for animals.
Second, the kittens are so cute it was hard to tear ourselves away from them! We made the very difficult decision of which male to select. It was a tough call, since they were all friendly, playful and not a bit shy about using us as human playgrounds. :)  But we did choose and I gave her the adoption survey. We are now just anxiously awaiting their homecoming.
You've been terrific through this whole process. Thanks to your help I am looking forward to many happy years with my new masters.

On December 12, 2016 we received word from L. Barnes their adoption was finalized with Charleston Animal Society the week prior and they shared the following picture of their new family members, Sammy & Abby.

Adopt Charleston Cats highlights some of the cats and kittens currently in the care of Charleston Animal Society, Dorchester Paws, Pet Helpers, and Hallie Hill Animal Sanctuary located in the Lowcountry of, South Carolina. More are available for adoption, but we will show a few that are either on an adoption floor, Pounce Cat Cafe + Wine Bar, available for adoption from their foster home, or soon to be available for adoption. We also highlight adoptable felines available through individuals (primarily rescuers/TNR) and these animals are fully vetted. Periodically, we will also highlight kittens and cats available for adoption through agencies from surrounding counties.
Please consider adoption by visiting each facilities' website to learn how you can visit and meet your next furry friend or contact us to be connected to a rescuer.
Thank you for looking.
