The weekend of the historical weekend flooding in South Carolina, we found the next set of kittens we hoped to foster. They had been rescued from a feral colony by a caregiver and employee of Charleston Animal Society. Be sure to check out their webpages (Dew Foster Group 1) to read information and see photos of Van Gogh, Sienna, Scarlett and Opie (originally Opal, but it appears Opal is a male). The same individual also brought into Charleston Animal Society two additional kittens from another area of the county days later and those are now also with us (see Dew Foster Group 2). The first four accepted Group 2, Franklin and Socks, into their group immediately and the house is full of cuddles, kneading paws, games of chase through the house, purrs, and meows. They have been a fun group to watch stay healthy while they grow.
Now here's the part even I can't believe! When I picked up Franklin and Socks, also coming home with me was another foster group. Mama cat and five of her babies born within the shelter's walls on October 11, joined our menagerie of fosters. This group is doing great and their mother is excellent at taking full care of them at this young age.
In addition to a vacation, fostering 12 felines, cleaning litter pans numerous times a day I have been working to raise money for the Charleston Animal Society's medical fund, Toby's Fund, through our team, Adopt Charleston Cats. This is an annual Celebrity Chili Cook-off and Oyster Roast and the largest fundraiser for Toby's Fund. As of this moment, Adopt Charleston Cats has raised $800 thanks to the generosity of friends, family, co-workers and strangers and we have several more weeks to go! For each $25 donation, your donation can be used as a ticket into the event on November 21st at The Citadel football stadium in Charleston, South Carolina (or as a tax deduction). Please do not hesitate to visit our team's page and make a donation to help treat, care and save the lost, injured and abandoned animals of Charleston County, South Carolina:

We will continue working to raise more funds while getting future adoptable kittens ready for their forever families. Until next time, please keep your pets safe during the Halloween season and enjoy carving all your pumpkins into adorable kitty cat faces!
