I have been a little concerned lately that Hamster was becoming a what some may call a 'one-owner' cat because he has me home with him nearly 24/7, but this weekend one of my sisters visited and it was good to see his reaction to a stranger in the house for several days. It's my pleasure to say that he did wonderful! My sister observed him on Friday with a little interaction that evening, giving him time to become accustomed to her. Hamster was not bothered there was a 'stranger' in his bed and slept normally - another great sign. On Saturday he enjoyed some lovin' and playin' with his human 'aunt'. On the third day, his body language and look out of his eyes let us know he 'asked' my sister to play with him (oh, how he loves the teaser wands). He was a perfect host and didn't hide or act any differently with a house guest than he does any regular day. Again, I am so proud of him and know he will eventually be someone's special boy.
One additional note about Hamster. It was time for him to have a vaccination and was taken back to Pet Helpers on Friday afternoon for his distemper injection. He travels so well, and has no problem going into his carrier and riding in the car. A joy to take across town - a quiet ride with complete calmness (more than can be said about some of our past foster kittens - LOL).
Until next time, we wish everyone a purrfect week!
