Let me say something about home life so you can understand Hamster a little better. I am fortunate to work via telecommuting and Hamster has had the pleasure of spending most of my work days lazing on a memory foam pillow placed on my office's desk. When I leave the office, he hops down and follows me through the house. Periodically he is on his pillow and if I'm on the phone (that inevitable 'hold' pattern), I pick up my pencil and tap it on the desk so he plays a form of "tag".
He is an amazing cat who has an obvious forgiving soul. He is my constant companion when either on the couch or in bed at night. He sleeps with me throughout the night - sometimes under the covers. He is a great cuddle buddy when it's time to sleep, most of the time.
When Hamster first came into our lives, he rarely played. In the past month there has been a noticeable increase in his activity level, which I am truly happy. Now I am working on adjusting his behavior because he thinks as soon as daylight approaches, it's time to smack me on the head to be sure I am awake to play with him. This morning I think I may have found a way to nicely readjust this behavior so I can sleep a little bit longer, but only time will tell if this "trick" really works. More about that once I know we have success. In the meantime, I will continue to let him live the life of a king.
More later, but as he is curled up next to me (and snoring), it's time for us to get ourselves to bed for the night.
Here's to hoping everyone that reads this has a purrfect night. Thank you for visiting.
