It was a busy day as well with visits made to both Pet Helpers on Folly Road and Charleston Animal Society on Remount Road.
At Pet Helpers I went to pick up Hamster's monthly preventatives, and will plan on giving him his Iverhart and Revolution treatment today. While at Pet Helpers, of course, who can pass up the chance to visit with the adoptable pets. I visited with Sunkist and made a few photos of her; she's such a sweet gal who tolerated the camera well even though I could tell it wasn't her favorite object in the room. I also visited with Bearby Jean for a moment, but she was more interested in hanging with her pals, Livi and Three. That's OK ~ she looked happy and content, but we all know she would love a forever home.
The afternoon was spent at Charleston Animal Society's Kitten Room as a volunteer - syringe feeding several kittens, breakdown and cleaning a few cages, and playing with sweet babies. CAS is having their big adoption event, so there was plenty of activity. One playful kitten I enjoyed was taken from the Kitten Room to the adoption floor late in the afternoon, and during my end of the day visit to see the cats/kittens on the adoption floor I was told this playful sweetie had already been adopted--YAY! It was wonderful seeing so many dedicated CAS staff working as adoption consultants in order these animals could leave the shelter and move forward in being a part loving families.
Of course, the evening was spent back at home relaxing with my better half and Hamster, the foster cat. What a great day!
